Um...long time, no blog huh?

I'm making my first quilts for my kiddos for Christmas this year and I'm so excited with how they turned out, I've gotta share with you all.

I used fabrics from my stash...some Jennifer Paganelli, Sarah Jane Studios and miscellaneous prints.  They're throw size, I guess?  Perfect for snuggling on the couch.  And they're backed with fleece.  Oh, yah.  Hope they don't mind if I borrow them while they're at school.  :D

This is Emily's:

And here is Elisabeth's:

Look at all those gorgeous JP prints!  yowsa!

Donovan's is in progress - all green prints at his request.  Pics to come soon-ish.

Hope this finds you all well.

Much love,

the neck-tie knot

Another way to tie the straps on a knot dress...I personally love this version.  Its neat, different, and means no hanging straps!  Thought I'd share a how-to.  Happy Saturday, Friends. :)

Oh, Autumn...

Hi Friends!

Great News!
{Old-Fashioned Autumn}, {Faeries} and {Vintage Halloween}
are now available!!

{Old-Fashioned Autumn} features gorgeous dresses, warm ruffles, and coordinating accessories of course!  I named this collection "Old-Fashioned Autumn" after taking my little one out and about in the Apples dress - I can't tell you how many people commented, and said, "I love her outfit, it looks so old-fashioned!"  I think it describes it perfectly!

{Faeries} ~ oh how we love faeries!!!  Ruffled bottoms, a pretty little apron skirt, a knot dress and more!

The {Vintage Halloween} Collection includes a very vintage-y apron knot dress, coordinating tee and fun ruffled bottoms!

Get your favorite items now before they're all gone!

Love, Ellen

Fabric fabric fabric...

I'm sure you all know by now how much I love fabric.  I have quite the stockpile, but can't seem to stop buying it, haha!

As I break from cleaning my house and prepare for the party on Saturday, I'm looking at the "Coming Soon" section of Hawthorne Threads and ohmygosh!  I seriously cannot wait for some of the prints to be released.

Possibly my Favorite ~ Children at Play by Sarah Jane
I mean, seriously, how CUTE is this?!?!

Gorgeous stuff!  And there's more, but I'm gonna stop now.  Heehee.  I LOVE fabric!

Happy Thursday!

.....one of those mornings where I just didn't want to get out of bed.  So tired lately.  It hasn't stopped me from getting things done, though.  Orders are going out daily.  I am currently booked up through mid-April, then I'll be taking a week off with the fam.  Yay!  I am very much in need of a little break.  :)

*Some* New Fabric in this Week:

Coming soon, I'll be offering "Scrappy Skirts" and "Scrappy Ruffles" in my shop.  I have an ever-growing pile of "scraps" that I need to do something with.  Solved!

Have a great day!

~ Ellen

More fabric love...

Two boxes came today - both full of fabric.  One was full of Dr. Seuss prints, the other had tomato red cotton, dotted swiss voile (6 yards worth...didn't read that its sheer...hmmm...what shall I do with it?), navy blue cotton and the Dr. Seuss panels I forgot to include in my other order.  The Dr. Seuss dress and ruffles will be up in my shop in a bit.  This is what I'll be offering:

Knot Dress and Ruffles

Haha - crazy girl - I love this pic <3

And as you can see, I made some small changes to my blog this morning...love the Shabby Blogs site!  I had far too much fun. :)

Also coming are hankie dresses.  Thanks to a little reminder from Jessica at LittlePumpkinGrace.blogspot.com...I love the look of these vintage pieces and I really want to make more.  They make me happy. Hopefully they'll make someone else happy, too. :)

Off to fill up my mug with some coffee and get some more work done!  I forgot that tomorrow is St. Patty's Day...looks like I'll be up super late again tonight...my kids have nothing GREEN to wear! AH!  Heehee

Talk soon!

Busy weekend....

I need to finish up all that I've started (way too much), and then I can hardly wait to share pics of what I've been working on the past couple of days!  Here's a little peek:

I will be adding 4 ready-to-ship Hungry Caterpillar dresses to my shop this week, as well - wahoo!

My last post was 11/9.  Eek.  Time seriously gets away from me, especially this time of year.

Some of us are just getting over a bug...I hate when the sickies hit our home.  I'm finishing up some last minute holiday orders this week.  And starting to make some gifts - finally.  I have to say I completely underestimated how crazy it would be this holiday season.  Wasn't it September like yesterday?  I learned a lot this year, at least.  Note to self - prepare for holiday fairs months in advance.  Not a couple of weeks.  It totally messed up my schedule...I had all sorts of cute holiday outfits to offer, and had no time to make them.  Not good.  So...next year will be different.  Promise.

I plan to open my customs shop back up sometime in January.  I will be limiting the number and size of orders per week.  Its for my own sanity really.  I really enjoy making new things, but I need to allow myself time to do that.

If I don't get back here before then,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!
from the Sanborn family

I know I said...

...I would choose a winner this afternoon, and its now after afternoon...time got away from me!

Congratulations, Cassie Violette!

Please email me at nellesclothing@yahoo.com with your address and I'll get this sweet little dress right out to you. :)

Thanks to all for playing!  Look for another giveaway soon!

Getting ready for the fair...

I enlisted helpers on Saturday (Elisabeth and Mom!) and we got sooo much done!  This was all in preparation for the fair on November 19. I'm seriously getting excited as I see things get put together.  Mom did all the cutting...Elisabeth punched out tags.  It was a MAJOR help.  You can see Emily tried to be a part of the craziness as well...she wasn't nearly as helpful, but a sweet little addition.  :)

 Winter Floral Knot Dresses

Dolls (YAY!) and lots of goodies all cut and ready to sew

Today, we headed over to my sister's farm to get some holiday portraits of our family. I made the girls peasants with Noel sashes, Donovan got a Noel tie (even though it had flowers on it, and "its a little weird for boys to wear flowers," he humored me), and I even wore some bright RED ruffles for some of the photos!  I cannot wait to see the end result!

Time flies...

in the blink of an eye.

I've been very busy the last few weeks.  I am happy to say that the Halloween Costume Party we planned for our kiddos was a huge success!  18 of Elisabeth & Donovan's classmates joined us two weekends ago to celebrate Halloween, eat some awesome Mummy dogs and fries (and plenty of candy), jump in the leaves (our pile was HUGE...seriously), and bob for apples!  I owe it all to the BEST Mom.  While children arrived at our door, she was busy in the kitchen making supper, cleaning up after the numerous messes (I am wishing I had taken a picture of the trail of leaves on our floors-they led from the front door, into the dining room and kitchen, down BOTH halls and into the living room.  I'm still finding leaves under the furniture!), and helping us clean up after it was all said and done.  It was a whirlwind.  I could not have done it without her!  And my husband!  Oh, yes, can't forget James in all of this...he kept me sane...and made sure the leaf pile was replenished often.  Thanks to you both.

Here are a couple of photos of the event...
Yummy Mummy Dogs

Fries - I found these way cool cups at our local liquidation center...
they say "Boardwalk Fries" on them - perfect!

The walkway leading to a table full of goodies!
Cupcakes (frosted by none other than MOM!)

 the Goodies

And now back to orders...lots of new ideas are being sent my way...and my Noel collection is selling well (yay!).  Keep 'em coming! :)

Katie's Capes

I just have to shout out to Katie at Katie's Capes for a minute.  :)  Her capes are the absolute best!  Oh, and the crowns!  They are wonderful for encouraging imaginative play.  My kids will wear them for hours (sometimes even to bed).  :)  Her prices cannot be beat and the quality is just amazing!  I do hope you will pay her a visit.

Oh, Sarah!

I can't get over the recent batch of photos from Freckle Farm Photography!  Sarah, once again, I love them!  Thanks, Sis!!!
